June 23, 2017 @ 11:00 pm - June 24, 2017 @ 3:00 am
Sponsors: CP Federal Credit Union, County National Bank, Michigan Theatre of Jackson, Jackson Symphony Orchestra.
This year’s JSO Summer Solstice Party is a collaboration with the Michigan Theatre of Jackson and Jackson’s Downtown Development Authority’s Jammin in Jackson summer concert series!
Summer Solstice Party with Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers
>The concert/party will coincide with June’s Cruise-In and will be a FREE event! There will be food trucks, and beer and wine will be for sale inside the fenced off concert area in Blackman Park and the new CP Federal City Square.
Massachusetts-based singer/songwriter, Heather Maloney opens the show so you’ll want to make sure you’re there early. The New York Times describes Maloney as, ““UTTERLY GORGEOUS – VISCERAL.”
This is sure to be a great night of live music and we are beyond thrilled to announce that this year’s headliners are Michigan’s own, Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers whose new album, Pluto, came out on March 31st.
Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers will make a sprightly young groove doctor out of anyone. With spectacular energy pulsating from every member of the band, the Rainbow Seekers could illuminate the very chambers of Heaven. Lead singer Joe Hertler splashes through lyrical puddles of golden rain, leaving his audience wearing flowery crowns and bubbling smiles. A ride on the Rainbow will take you across the mountains of Motown, through the fjords of folk, over the archipelagos of Americana, and—at last—into a funky firth, where only the fiercest of friendships can be found.
